Abstract

Blood availability is a critical factor in saving lives during medical emergencies. In Gwadar, the absence of a centralized and reliable blood management system results in delays in locating suitable donors. Existing methods rely on personal networks and social media, which are inefficient and unstructured.

This project proposes the development of a comprehensive hospital-centric blood system. It connects hospitals and donors through a mobile application and provides a dedicated Blood Bank Management Interface for hospitals.

Unique to this system is the capability for Inter-Hospital Blood Exchange, allowing hospitals to request blood units from neighboring hospitals when internal stocks are low. Additionally, an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based demand prediction module is incorporated to forecast future blood requirements based on historical hospital data.

Section 02

Introduction

The Challenge

Timely access to blood is essential in emergency healthcare. In Gwadar, the lack of a structured blood donation system leads to delays that can risk patient lives. Hospitals often struggle to quickly find donors, especially for rare blood groups.

Our Solution

A smart hospital-driven blood donation system that ensures reliability, efficiency, and speed. By integrating real-time notifications, map-based location tracking, and AI-based predictions, the system will significantly improve emergency response and blood management in Gwadar.

Section 03

Problem Statement

No centralized hospital blood bank management

No mechanism for inter-hospital blood exchange

Difficulty in locating nearby donors quickly

No predictive system for future blood demand

Delays in emergency situations that risk patient lives

Section 04

Objectives

General Objective

To develop an intelligent hospital-centric blood donation system that improves emergency response, blood availability, and facilitates blood exchange in Gwadar.

Specific Objectives
1

To enable hospitals to post verified blood requests

2

To allow hospitals to manage their own blood bank inventory

3

To facilitate inter-hospital exchange of blood units

4

To connect donors with hospitals in real-time

5

To implement an emergency broadcast system for urgent needs

6

To develop an AI-based model for predicting blood demand trends

Section 05

Scope of the Project

The system will be limited to Gwadar region

Only hospitals can create verified blood requests

Donors can register and respond to requests

Real-time notifications and map-based features

AI predictions will be based on hospital request data

Section 06

Proposed System

The proposed system consists of a mobile application and backend server designed to connect hospitals and donors efficiently.

Hospitals

Manage blood bank inventory
Post blood requirements
Exchange blood with other hospitals
Trigger emergency alerts

Donors

Register & track history
View nearby requests
Navigate to hospital
Receive notifications

Section 07

System Features

Hospital-Based Request

Hospitals post verified requests including blood group, units required, urgency level, and location.

Donor Management

Register donors with blood group, phone number, location. Track donation history and eligibility.

New

Blood Bank Inventory

Hospitals can manage their own blood stock levels. Visual indicators show low stock (critical) and safe levels.

New

Inter-Hospital Exchange

Low on stock? Request blood from nearby hospitals. The system facilitates transfers between authorized blood banks.

Map & Location

Display all hospitals in Gwadar, nearby donors, and visual representation of requests.

Emergency Broadcast

Hospitals trigger emergency alerts to nearby matching blood group donors with details and urgency.

AI

AI Demand Prediction

Analyze hospital request history to predict blood group demand trends and future requirements per hospital.
